9550 Series - Wind Load Rated Roll Up Sheet Door with Wind Locks
The 9550 Series roll up sheet door is designed for storage facilities in higher wind zones and exposed coastal locations where the highest wind ratings are required. Combining maximum wind resistance with reliable operation, these doors feature an integrated wind lock system that achieves superior wind load ratings beyond what non-windlock doors provide. Each 9550 Series door uses J-clip wind locks and wind bars that secure the curtain during severe weather events, meeting most building code requirements in hurricane-prone and extreme wind areas.
Features
Curtain
- Industry standard profile, 26-gauge, Grade 80 prepainted steel
- 5/8" ribbed corrugation
- 12-gauge J-clips installed every 6-1/2" for windbar engagement
- Max opening size 10' x 10'
- Curtain width = opening width + 5"
Bottom Bar
- 6063-T6 Aluminum
- 1-1/2 x 2 12GA galvanized weight bar
- Replaceable T-bulb astragal
Guide System
- 14-gauge galvanized steel
- 3.5" wide guide profile
- Pre-punched holes for anchors, slide latch, and head-stop attachment
- Durable PVC guide strips provide easy, quiet operation
- Integrated 12-gauge windbar for J-clip engagement
Hardware
- 12-gauge head stops
- 12-gauge reinforced galvanized brackets
- Shielded radial bearings for smooth operation
- Spring/counterbalance assembly with worm drive tensioner system
- 4-bolt latch
Minimum Clearance
- For proper exterior door installation, a 1-1/2" deep rain lip must be formed in the concrete slab extending a minimum of 4-1/2" from the interior face of the jamb.
- Enhanced Wind Load Performance
- Each 9550-LA door is engineered and tested to meet specific wind load requirements, with ratings ranging from +53.9/-61 PSF to +15.9/-18 PSF depending on door width, making it ideal for high wind applications.
- J-Clip Wind Lock System
- 12-gauge J-clips installed every 6-1/2" work with the integrated 12-gauge windbar system for superior wind resistance.
Optional Insulation
- Optional insulated roll-up doors are available for the 9550 Series. This insulation primarily serves as a radiant barrier that helps reduce condensation in humid environments and is especially beneficial for doors exposed to direct sunlight. The insulation can significantly reduce interior door surface temperatures in hot conditions. Please note that while insulation provides these benefits, it doesn't create a fully climate-controlled environment on its own, as air gaps around the guides are necessary for proper door operation.
