SteelBlue's Open Door - 2026 2nd Quarter Review
As we reach the midpoint of 2026, I am proud of how far this team has carried the year. We set out in January with a clear plan, and the second quarter turned our early launches into real traction. I am grateful, as always, for the partnership that makes that progress possible.
Our backlog remains healthy and gives us strong visibility into the second half. For a company still early in its story, that steadiness reflects the trust you place in us and the discipline this team brings to every project.
Spring is our busiest season in front of customers, and our team was everywhere it needed to be. We shared our story at the Inside Self-Storage World Expo, SSA Spring, and the IDA+ Expo, meeting operators, developers, and builders face to face. Those conversations are where the work becomes personal. Time and again we heard the same thing. Customers want a manufacturer who answers the phone, delivers on schedule, and stands behind every door. That is the reputation we are building, one project and one handshake at a time.
Our commercial door business moved from launch to momentum. We are building a dealer network to put these doors in more hands across the southeast region. The promise we make in that market is the one that built our name in storage. You should never have to wonder whether your door will hold up. We over-engineer on purpose so that you never have to think about it.
The Edge program kept its stride as well. More replacement/renovation projects delivered during the quarter than in the previous quarter, and the pipeline continues to deepen month after month with new opportunities. Facility owners with aging doors now have a partner who will show up, execute, and stand behind the work long after the install is done. The feedback from these early projects tells us we developed is the right program for the right moment.
Growth like this asks more of a company, and this quarter we answered by strengthening the team. Neal Yoder joined us as Vice President of Operations and Rick Chitwood as Plant Manager, deepening the leadership that keeps our quality high and our product moving. Brad Kerns came aboard as Regional Sales Manager to widen our reach with customers. Regina McDonnell joined our project management group, and Erin Peters stepped in as our AP Coordinator. Each of them makes us better at building, selling, and serving. Adding this caliber of talent tells you exactly where we are pointed.
Some of our most important progress this quarter happened on the plant floor. Late last year we invested in two new guide roll-formers, and I told you then to expect shorter lead times and a stronger cost structure. Those machines are now fully up and running. We produce guides for both our self-storage and commercial doors in-house, which allows for tighter control over quality, faster turnaround for you, and savings on materials and production. When we make a commitment about getting better, we follow through.
Beyond the plant, we kept sharpening everything else. We manage our supply chain with more discipline than we did a year ago, and we put new tools, including AI driven project management, to work across the business. Those tools help our team work faster, respond quicker, and spend less time on manual work. Every one of these gains, our people, our equipment, and our systems, points toward the same goal. We want to be ready to scale the moment the market accelerates, and we will be.
Thank you to our customers, our vendor partners, and the SteelBlue team. We understand that every project you trust us to is a choice, and we do not take any of those opportunities for granted.
As always, we thank you for your continued partnership, support, and interest in SteelBlue. Building Tomorrow, Today…We Win Together!
